I started an oil painting a few weeks ago of a girl that is one with the mountains. It had been a while since I painted with oils, so I thought that I would give it a go. I had forgotten the reason why I don’t paint with oils as often as I would like. They are messy and smelly! Even when I am not painting, I manage to somehow get it on my clothes, my face, and my dog Sofi. Although I missed using oils and love how it blends like butter, I am going to stick with watercolors and acrylic paints for the time being.
I picked up acrylic paints and made a peacock painting that is of similar style to my watercolor paintings. I diluted the acrylic to make the same consistency as the watercolors. It worked like a charm since the acrylic painting of a peacock looks similar to my watercolor peacock paintings.
Check out the similarity. 🙂

It is difficult to decipher between both peacocks, but the one on the right is acrylic.
