Gallery walls are such a great way to display your treasures. It is a neat and fun way to share the things that you are interested in and it will certainly communicate your personality to the observer. We have been seeing so many gorgeous wall galleries on hgtv, West Elm, and Lauren Conrad’s home. They gave us great inspiration for our dream wall gallery.

We were able to get great tips from Lauren Conrad’s recent article, Home Makeover: How to Build a Gallery Wall. “…Choose pieces that have a common thread—a certain color for example,” team LC writes. We chose pink! Plus a tad bit of gold here and there. We used gorgeous prints from Jessica Illustration , CraftMei, and our AngyPaints originals. This tip certainly helped bring every art piece together. Another great tip: “the key is making sure you start with a couple of larger pieces to anchor the wall.” We took her advice and placed the largest frame first! We used our original watercolor painting, “Flamingo Love”. Then we worked around this piece adding smaller and medium sized frames to create a slanted diamond shape. We love the end result. It is the new year and I have been painting more than ever! I even started an oil painting called “One with the Mountains”. I also have been experimenting with calligraphy. It takes a lot of patience in the beginning but I find that the more I practice the faster I become.

Although I love paintings birds, I am trying out other subjects. My current subjects are flowers! My local grocery store offers the most stunning flower bouquets so I took the opportunity to paint them from life. I find that painting from life is very rewarding to the overall painting. Below is one of the floral paintings that I painted a few days ago.
