This lovely dove painting will be hung at a counseling office. A counselor contacted me about incorporating a quote to my painting, Dove of Peace. I accepted with excitement. I especially love the incorporation of words of wisdom by the Dalai Lama, “Our prime purpose in this life is to help others. And if you can’t help them, at least don’t hurt them.” My heart jumps with joy every time I get the chance to bring peace and color to someones day. I’m so happy that this painting will be hung in a therapeutic setting so that many people can enjoy it. 🙂
If you would like a print of this lovely painting, please head over to my Etsy Shop. I offer this as print with or without the quote. 🙂
How adorable is my newest painting? I usually paint lovely birds and flowers but this time I decided to paint a kitten playing with a blue butterfly. I had such a blast!
Happy 2017 my lovely loves!! Here are your favorites from 2016.
Check out my newest painting, Determined Heart. I wanted to try something different so instead of painting flowers and birds, I went with this beach seen. It is somewhat surrealistic since the dolphin looks like he is coming out of the glass bottle. It has been so cold here in MA so I needed a beach scenery. 😉
The original is for sale in my Etsy Shop
After going to four different stores and not being able to find a calendar, I decided to make my own. I have thought about turning my artwork into a calendar before but making one completely from scratch did not come to mind. Since I am completely obsessed with birds I decided to make it bird themed. Every single month has a different bird on it. Of course you can make yours into any theme that you would like. Colorful watercolor splashes would look really pretty as well.
Here is how you can make your own 2017 hand-painted watercolor calendar using supplies from Michaels Ats and Crafts Store.
DIY Hand-Painted 2017 Calendar
Step 1: Take 6 pieces of watercolor paper and cut each one in half. Each one should measure 5.5″ x 7.5″. You should end up with 12 pieces for the 12 months of the year.
Step 2: Write all the months of the year and days of the week in black marker. You can change it up by placing the calendar on the top or bottom of the paper like the above photo.
Step 3: Let your creative juices flow and paint anything you desire. I chose to paint my favorite birds. 😀
This is one of my favorites! I made sure to paint my favorite bird on my birthday month. Can’t stop painting peacocks! 😀
I used this cute pedestal frame that I found at Michael’s. The clip makes it easy to change the pictures or it can hold all of them at once. I really like the rustic look.:D
Instead of the pedestal frame you have the option to whole punch the top middle of the paper and add a string or you may also display your desktop calendar with a binder clip.
Thanks for viewing! I hope you enjoyed this post.
What theme will you use for your calendar? 😀
I seriously cannot stop painting Audrey Hepburn! Here is an expressionistic depiction of her character from her film Breakfast at Tiffany’s. She was an amazing figure, not only because of her stunning beauty but also because of her generous heart. Her kindness led her to help impoverished children during her time as an ambassador to the United Nations Children’s Fund. As a result she was awarded several humanitarian awards.

This week has been something else. When the road gets bumpy I always turn to herbal tea though. Lavender Lemon Balm or Chamomile Lemon Balm with lemon and honey always does the trick. 😀
I have some really exciting news! My Etsy shop reached 100 sales today!! I’m super excited! Thank you so so much for all of your support! I absolutely love creating colorful paintings for you!
